Place Value

This morning, Kindergarten worked so amazingly in Maths. This week we have been practising counting by 5s and 2s as our daily warm up. Below is a link you can follow if you would like your child to have a go at home.

We then looked at the place value of numbers when counting by 2s. A student pointed out that the numbers 2,4,6,8,0 are repeated in the ones column throughout the 100s chart.

We used our class number line and made each number using the tens and ones. Students were able to read the number by looking at the 'tens' and the 'ones'.

Students were then given a number card and were asked to make the number individually using the 'tens' and 'ones'.

Kindergarten are simply amazing!

Volume and Capacity

This week we have been focusing on volume and capacity in Maths.
Students have been investigating different objects and how much they can hold compared to another object. We have been having lots of fun and great questioning has been occurring.
Every morning before we start our lesson we begin with 10mins of Whole Number warm up. Over the last week we have been singing songs and working on the interactive 100s chart. We have been looking at counting by 5s and 2s. Please practice this at home if you can.
