Paper Bag Challenge

Celebrate Science Day 24 August

The Paper Bag Challenge

Consider this famous quote from Pablo Picasso.

“Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up”

Creativity is an attribute that we can all develop and is not exclusively to be found in the arts. Creativity in primary Science involves children in solving problems and thinking laterally.

Last year we had a very successful Paper Plate Challenge.

This year???

‘What can I make with a paper bag?’

Subtraction

Kindergarten have been working on Subtraction this week. To begin, we listened to an online booked called 'Pete the Cat lost his Buttons'. This wonderful book talked about how Pete lost his buttons one by one. A great concept that was covered in the book as well was how he dealt with losing his buttons. This was great as part of our Wellbeing program and resilience.

As you will see, students also wrote about the book. Everyone's writing is really improving!

What a class!
